Apple Caramel Cider

Hi everyone! I’m kicking off the fall season with a few of my favorite autumn themed drink recipes. The first recipe I’m going to share with you is Caramel Apple Cider, which is one of my favorite drinks to cozy up with during a cool fall night while I read. There’s something really comforting about apple cider, which I think has something to do with all the apple juice I drank as a kid… It’s kinda funny how all my comfort foods are just variations of the things I ate when I was little. Anyway, here’s the recipe for one of my favorite spins on apple cider adapted from a recipe I saw on Food.com: Caramel Apple Cider.

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ cups apple cider (You can buy it at any grocery store—just make sure you get “cider” and not “juice.”)
  • 1 ½ tablespoons caramel sauce or dip
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • whipped cream
  • caramel flavored syrup

Instructions:

  1. Combine all ingredients into a sauce pan.
  2. Heat over medium-high heat and stir (don’t let all the caramel stick to the bottom of the pan).
  3. Once the cider is hot and all the caramel has melted, pour into a mug.
  4. Top off your drink with whipped cream and lightly drizzle caramel syrup to your liking… and enjoy!
